I WON THE SCHOLARSHIP!!!
I don't know if I had mentioned that I had applied for a scholarship with the Social Science Division. It didn't hurt to try, right? I had to turn in an unofficial copies of my transcript, a letter of recommendation from a teacher, a 1-page essay of what my current and future plans for my major are, and of course the application.
Well, I got the letter today saying that I was chosen for the William Klaustermeyer Memorial Scholarship!! I'm so happy!! I have to attend an awards ceremony on May 13th, and I hate attention...haha. I had to email a picture to the chairperson (my former stats teacher) of the social science scholarships so they can put it up for display at the ceremony...
So I had to share the happy news with all of you!! Have a great night!

HEADACHES AND STRESS
I'm right now in the middle of doing a huge research paper that's due on Tuesday morning for my Child Psych class. I have a headache, honestly. My very last research paper for this semester will be for my Research Methods class and that will be a nice little headache in itself. It will based on a research experiment that I'm doing called "Gender Differences and Authentic Happiness". I have already made up my survey and consent form (consisting of 5 pages) and will need to make 100-120 packets (500-600 copies). But I want my teacher to look over my one copy before I go and make all those copies.
*SIGH*....so ya, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Plus I have to study for my Speech test on Monday night. We are coming to a close on our last 3 weeks of school. Wish me luck.

BODY WORLDS 3 AND THE PET EXPO
Yesterday we went to the Body Worlds expo in Los Angeles. My last entry goes into detail about what it is. But wow, it was sooooo fascinating! We got to see all the body parts you can think of in every condition possible. For example, we saw a set of healthy lungs and right next to it, a smoker's lungs. The smoker's lungs were all black and porous. It was crazy. Then there was a placenta and another placenta of twins. But the most fascinating thing that I saw were the fetuses. There were about 8-9 glasses of what looked like water. Each glass was labeled "5 and a half weeks" all the way to "9 weeks". Inside the glass, you can see the little fetus floating in the water. In the 5 week one, it just looked like a little flesh, fish type thing. But by 9 weeks, it was like 2-3 inches big, and you can see the little hands, fingers and even the little face! It was crazy!! Then you see a 24 week old baby, he looked like a baby doll sleeping. The last baby was labeled 31-32 weeks old. You can even see his little hair. He was a little boy
It was fascinating but a little sad too. In the beginning before you enter this section with the babies, there's a big sign that reads that you're about see sensitive matter and to take caution. There was tons to see there....a healthy liver and then an alcoholic's liver. The alcoholic's liver was enlarged and had a darker color too. I was in there taking notes like crazy, since I get 25 points extra credit for just writing half a page. I saw so much that I don't think half a page will be enough. It was funny because at the end, there's info that you can look into if YOU want to donate your body for plastination. But ya, everything that we saw were all REAL BODIES of people that chose do donate themselves for scientific and research purposes.
Then today, we went to the Pet Expo that's in the area. There were all these vendors selling their stuff. We bought Minnie treats, a cute 49er's jersey, a liquid that you put in her water to freshen her doggy breath, and tons of food samples. It was 100 degrees, but it was fun. Our feet were hurting so bad towards the end. Now were just resting.
I need to seriously catch up on some reading for my Child Psych test on Tuesday. I swear, we have a test every 2 weeks. I can't believe we only have 5 weeks left!!
Ok, everyone have a great night!!

JUST A REGULAR DAY....
Today Jose and I went to Olive Garden. We hadn't been there in a while. And boy, did we have crappy service. The food was ok but I would have preferred to have gone next door (Red Lobster). The food is delicious there and the service is wonderful. In the next table over, there was a group of young hispanic girls (like in their early 20's). Naturally, our guy waiter kept paying the most attention to them. When they were done eating, they were all couting out their money and how much they owed, etc. When our crappy waiter came around, he asks them, "Do you need any change?" One of the girls oblivously goes, "No, it's only like 5 cents!" The waiter was all, "Uhhh, ok."
Thinking back, I never heard the girls once mention anything about tip when they were all counting their money. Jose was all, "That's what he gets for trying to get a piece of ass!" It's true....he was all neglecting his other tables and dedicating himself to this all-girl table. It was funny.
Tomorrow, Jose, me and his friend, Kevin, are going to this expo called Body Worlds 3. It's this world famous expo that this German guy made with preserving human bodies with this process called plastination (where they cover the bodies with this plastic solution to preserve the body parts in it's actual color). This is extra credit for my Biology class. All he wants us is to write half a page of what we saw and it's 25 points. So that should be cool.
Ok, have a great evening!

OFF FOR THE REST OF THE DAY
It's nice to have 1 class on Wednesdays. It's at 7:30 in the mornings and ends at 8:50. I'm out of there before most students even start their day at school. So I just got home and paid bills...fun, fun. But that's done now.
I had forgot to mention that on Monday, we disected a rat in my Biology Lab.
It was crazy considering that I cringe at the sight of one. I thought I had a rat phobia, but I guess it's not a phobia. It was more disgust this whole time. If it would have been a phobia, I wouldn't have been able to sit by one and even make an incision or two. I have never disected anything in my life, not even in my high school days. So this was rather fascinating. The insides literally looked fake. It was crazy how each little organ had it's own little area and it was very well preserved.
Just realized that our Jeep needs a smog check before we renew the registration. Great. So Jose will take care of that tomorrow.
Ok, that's it for now....have a great Wednesday!!

BEEN BUSY....
Hi everyone, I've been really busy with school. I'm happy to report that I got a 100% on my Biology essay. And believe me, this professor is a hard grader! I was so ecstatic! I would have been happy with like an 85.
As you can see, I made a new layout....I hope you all like it. I do
Ok, not really much to report on. I'll be back with a more intriguing entry when I get a little more time.
