Tired
Taking care of a rambunctious puppy and starting a new semester (basically a new schedule/routine) is not easy. Last night, Jose was at work and I was at home with Minnie. I was taking advantage that she was pretty calm and started to clean the place. All of a sudden, she started to have diarrhea...on our carpet, not on her training pads, out of all places. Everytime I would clean up the mess, I would go back to cleaning. I would leave her for a second and I would turn around, and there she had had diarrhea on the carpet again. It was horrible. I don't know why I picked her up (I'm glad I did though), and her whole bootie was completely smeared with crap. I was like, "OMG!!!" I put her in the shower and got in with her. I washed her completely, it was all in her hair and everything. It was pretty disgusting. But I felt so bad for her. She kept trying to wiggle out of my arms because she was alarmed by the sound of the water coming out. And I would try to comfort her by saying, "It's ok, baby, we need to get you nice and clean." I went to bed exhausted. Today she's doing better, thank God. I now feel I can handle anything with this dog. My worst nightmare happened and I was able to handle it. I'm trying to get homework done in between taking care of her but it's hard. So we put up the little gate we bought her and put it our bedroom's doorway. I can do my homework in there and at the same time, she can see me. Because if I start doing homework on the couch, she'll want to climb up and want to play. But ya, our bedroom is completely off limits for her.
Besides puppy-stress, things have been good with Jose and I. His whole attitude has changed and there have been no phone-calls with certain people. Yes, I'm still checking. And I will continue to for a while. He's also been very affectionate with me, which is nice. Thank goodness he'll be here tomorrow. I'll be at school most of the day. He can handle the "Minnie Terror". On Mondays and Wednesdays, I'm at school from 7:20-noon. Then I go back home, do what I gotta do and go back for my 4pm class and that one ends at 6:50pm. Monday's afternoon class is Stats and Wednesday's afternoon class is Abnormal Psychology. The morning classes for both days are English and Philosophy.
Ok, I'm going to finish reading the chapter for my English class. Have a goodnight!!

More Pictures of Minnie
I went ahead and took more pictures of Minnie. I thought these came out really cute! Hover over the images to read the captions.
My sister came down for a few days with her boyfriend. We went out to dinner at that bbq place I had posted about before. They absolutely loved it. They loved Minnie and thought she was the cutest thing. My sister said she looked like a stuffed animal....and she does. Her boyfriend, Manny, was a really nice guy. We drove them to the airport this morning. Ok, everyone have a great weekend!

New Pictures/She Has Major Attitude!
Well, as you can all imagine, this little girl has been wearing Jose and I out. And with the start of a new semester, even worse. We got her on Monday morning and after class I met Jose at a shopping center parking lot. When I opened the door to the Jeep, I just saw this tiny little thing looking at me! She is soooo cute!! Quiet too. At first anyways.
Whenever she's doing something she's not supposed to, we go "Minnie! Stop that!" She stops what she's doing, looks at you, cries for a bit and then barks once (as in saying "How are you going to tell me what to do!") Too much attitude for a little puppy. When we go to another room, she comes running after us. She looks like a little grey cotton ball with legs.
I love all my classes and my teachers. I dropped my speech class that started late at night. I was taking on too much. I'm already taking a lot of classes that require a lot of reading and writing. Plus, taking care of a new puppy and keeping the apartment from getting messey. Too much. So I'm back to 12 units.
Jose and I have been doing good. He hasn't been going out. Just spending time with me (or should I say us). He's more affectionate and has been focusing on us, our home, etc. So it's nice. I found this on our little kitchen chalkboard when I got home from school yesterday.....the funny thing is that little drawing he made of himself, really does look like him, with the bald head and ears.
Ok, enjoy the pictures!!

She'll Be Here in 2 Days!!!
We got a call from the flight coordinator earlier today. Our puppy will arrive on Monday at 9:50 am at LAX Airport. Jose will pick her up on his way out of work. I, unfortunately, will be in class (first day of Fall semester). I'm going to be sooooo restless in class. At least on the first day, they normally just go over class policies, the syllabus, rules, etc. I should be home before noon. Then I have a 4 o'clock class....Stats.
We were under the impression that they were going to work around our schedule. At least that's what the guy told us. Luckily Jose has Monday off. We were told to bring baby wipes, a towel, water, pedialyte (clear), food, a chew toy. I can't wait to get her!! Unfortunately, our apt. has their yearly inspection this week. Were not allowed to have pets....
But a lot of people have cats here and even big dogs. They just do a good job of hiding them. Luckily the maintenance guys are cool and they said they would give us a head up before they do our building. We'll have to sneak her out and take her to the park. Stress.
Ok, that's all for now. I don't want to start school already. With everything that has been going on, I feel like I haven't really relaxed and the first day just crept up on me. *Sigh* But the sooner I get these classes out of the way, the quicker I can transfer to CSUF. Have a good night, everyone!!

8.0 Earthquake Hits Peru
Full Story A powerful 8.0 earthquake hit Peru at 6 in the evening (their time). I wasn't able to get through to my dad because the lines are blocked, but we logged on through msn messenger/camera and he says that they're all fine. My mom was really worried because she couldn't get through to her family. For a while, my dad couldn't get through to talk to her family either because of the lines being blocked. But he finally got through. They're all fine, thank God. My uncle and his family don't have any electricity though. And my aunt and her daughters are fine too. My dad says that the earthquake lasted for about 2 minutes. OMG. It must have felt like it would never end. There's been over 40 aftershocks, the 2 most poweful ones measuring 5.7 and 5.9. A famous church collapsed (where my mom was born). And the people that live in the poorer homes, their houses came down too. A lot of people are sleeping outside or in their cars tonight in fear that it will happen again during the night. My dad was also telling me that many people are going to bed fully clothed in case they have to dash out in the middle of the night as well. It's so heartbreaking. I ask that all of you please keep these people in your prayers. Thank you.

OMG
100 freakin degrees today. Unbelievable and horrible. Our place just warms up so fast (even with the AC and our fan running) since were on the 2nd floor. I ordered us pizza today and when I opened the door, WHOOSH.....hot air overwhelming me. It was just horrible. It's finally starting to cool down now. I'm sorry but I just hate the heat. I will take cold weather anytime. At least with cold weather, you can turn on the heater and bundle up and your all set. With this heat, you can practically walk around naked, take 242343 cold showers, and it's still hot. Not a big fan of hot weather, never was and never will.
Everything is going smoothly with us. He got a text message (he told me) yesterday while he was out walking. He said he deleted it and didn't reply back. I'll get to see for myself probably by tomorrow, but I believe him. There's no point in lying to me, because I will find out anyways....
He's been good still. Cell phone is still chillin all over the place. So that's good. I've been having so much fun with him these past several days that he's had off. He told me that he's felt the same. Our marriage has hit a new spark that we haven't felt in a while. And I'm really enjoying it......
8/15 @ 5:29 pm: The info regarding the text message came in earlier today. And just like he said, no reply back from my husband. It just shows that she texted him (at the time he said) and that's it. Hoodrat. I swear, I feel like I have a GPS system on his phone or something....lol. But oh well, that's the way it's going to be for a while.

Our New Addition to Our Family
Check out our new addition to our family, Minnie! She is 7 weeks old and she will flown down here from Florida in a couple of weeks. Isn't she adorable? She is a Miniature Schnauzer, color: Salt and Pepper. She currently weighs 2 lbs. I can't wait to have our little baby girl here! Once we get her, we'll take tons of pictures and I'll post them up.
For a brief update on what's going on with certain things, just go to the passworded entry above.

Going to Church Today
For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. (James 1:3)
I hope that's really true. I haven't slept for the past 2 nights. I hope going to church will give me some encouragement because I really need it right about now.

I'm Emotionally Exhausted
Man, I have been through a tough couple of days. But I'm happy to report all is good now. More details in the passworded entry above. Speaking of passworded entries, it's nice to have control of who reads your private entries because I know people that I don't care for are still coming by here and reading all my stuff. I just went ahead and blocked their butts from this whole site.
I had Olive Garden today. I went with Jose's aunt. My current obsession with them is the Seafood Alfredo....and of course the Tiramisu. I can never leave that place without getting the Tiramisu.
My dad is coming from Peru on Sept. 5th. He'll be here in L.A. for a month and then he's flying to the Bay Area. I'm actually not sure how long he's going to be here in the states for. So that will be nice to see him. Ok, I guess that's it for now. Bye!!

LAPD Mourns the Tragic Loss of Two of Their Own
The men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department are mourning the tragic loss of a veteran Police Detective and Police Officer after the two lost their lives in separate, off-duty traffic accidents today.
Just before 3:30 this morning, July 29, 2007, 52-year old LAPD Detective III George Selleh of Simi Valley was killed while driving his motorcycle Southbound on the 101 Freeway near Highland Avenue. Detective Selleh came upon a one vehicle traffic collision that had occurred just moments before when the driver of a 1991 Toyota Corolla lost control of his car and hit the center divider. The Corolla spun and ended up blocking two lanes of traffic. Unable to avoid the Corolla, Detective Selleh collided with it and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Eleven more vehicles were involved in accidents as drivers either hit the Corolla or swerved to avoid it. The Hollywood freeway was shut down for more than 12 hours as Officers with the California Highway Patrol investigated the initial crash and the multiple vehicle pileup.
Detective Selleh has been with the Department for 29-years. Appointed in May 1978, he was most recently assigned to the Mission Area Narcotics Enforcement Detail as the supervising detective. He has worked Narcotics since 1990. While at Mission Area, Detective Selleh was recognized as the supervisor of the quarter. He is survived by his wife, a 20-year old son and an 18-year old daughter.
Several hours later, around 10:30 am, while investigating a single-vehicle accident, Officers with the California Highway patrol discovered the body of 33-year old Police Officer II David Rodriquez. He was off duty and driving his personal car East on the Ventura Freeway when his vehicle left the road near Sepulveda Boulevard and crashed down an embankment.
Officer Rodriguez was appointed to the Department in May 2003. He was assigned to Van Nuys Patrol. After completing probation he transferred to North Hollywood where he patrolled the streets he grew up on. Officer Rodriguez established himself as a hard-working, proactive patrol officer. He received several commendations for his work and arrests. He also played a significant role in the arrest of the Valley "Pizza Bandit" in October 2006. He is survived by his mother and a brother.
As an organization the LAPD prides itself on being a family of caring and sympathetic individuals who not only share law enforcement related experiences, but also build lasting personal bonds. The men and women of the LAPD who worked and spent time with Detective Selleh and Officer Rodriguez describe them as men of integrity with tender spirits "Both men were extraordinarily talented and dedicated members of the organization," said Chief of Police William Bratton. "Their love of the Department was only exceeded by that which they felt for their families. We will never forget their contributions to the Department and the communities they served."
The men and women of the LAPD send their heart-felt condolences to the families of Detective Selleh and Officer Rodriguez.
