1 Year Anniversary for Happy Lil Blog

A year ago, I opened up an extension of my main site, Happy Lil Shoppe, to be a blog. It just started off as a little window opening up at the main site, pretty soon I gave it its own spot. I met a lot of great people through blogging. I never have been good at keeping up with blogging (I had/have Open Diary, Live Journal and those have been abandoned). But something about being able to customize your own look is so much fun!! It amazes me how much time flies!! So here's a for 1 year and many more to come!!!

Geesh....

My goodness, I was looking at some really cute siggies, but some are so expensive!! Maybe it's just me being cheap, but paying almost $6 per siggy blows my mind! Oh well, they were cute too

I think Minnie may be done with her little "situation". Thank goodness too. Now were just looking for a good place to get her spayed.

Oh, I got an 'A' in my first Research Methods test...so yay!!

Update @ 6:05 pm: I'm not going to be blogging till sometime next week. I have soooooo much homework and studying to do, I feel a bit overwhelmed, actually. I hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend!!!

Poor Minnie

She's in heat right now. They say they normally go through their first heat around 7 months or so, so that's sounds about right (she was 7 1/2 months when she started). She started about 10 days ago when we were clipping her hair. I noticed a little bit of blood coming out and I thought Jose had nicked her. Ever since then, she's been wearing those doggy diapers. I read that it lasts for like 3 weeks.....great. So right after she's done, were going to get her spayed. Poor thing, she's been sleeping a lot and she's been really whiney. Thank goodness we live in a apartment complex so we don't have all these dogs outside our door.... I read that this lady had her female dog in heat and this dog came CRASHING through her window to get to her little dog!! We live in a 2nd story apartment, so that shouldn't be happening to us anytime soon. Plus, Jose says he would be shooting any dogs that try to get to Minnie right now.....overprotective dad, I tell you.....

LAPD Officer Randy Simmons EOW 2/7/08

I just finished watching the whole funeral live on tv. It was like an all day thing. Jose was at the funeral, but it was little hard to spot him among the 10,000 people that attended. This was for the SWAT officer that was killed on the 7th. He left behind a wife, a 15-yr. old son, and 13-yr. old daughter. This was the first fatality for SWAT. It was a beautiful ceremony. Departments from all over California including from Washington attended. Here's an article of what happened. He had opened up a ministry to help inner-city kids. He was a Christian man that was very devoted to The Lord, his family, and his career. RIP Officer Simmons.

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!! We're just going to spend a nice, quiet evening at home. It's my "Friday" and I have no school on Monday....so yay!!

Got Them Done!!

I finished doing our taxes a few nights ago and I just got notified that the IRS has accepted our efile. Yay! Thanks to the fact that I go to school and all of Jose's deductions from work, we should be expecting a pretty nice check within a few weeks. So can't wait for that.

We want to take a little mini vacation to Big Bear. I think it would be fun to take Minnie in the snow and stay in a little cabin. At least before the snow melts!!

I took my 2nd Child Psych test today. I think I did ok. Probably got a 'B'. I'll see on Thursday. I have my first test for my Research Methods class on Thursday, as well.

Please Pray

Please pray for Becca and her mom. Her mom is very sick and she needs everyone to pray for her. Becca, please know that I have all the faith in the world that The Lord will not let your family down.

I just came from a 3-mile walk with Jose. I feel good. I want to start up my walking again, I really need to get in shape.

When I got home, I just decided to click on Johanna's site, and I actually got in!! I was having problems since like December getting to her site and a few others. I tried Amy's and Susan's too and walla....got in too!! Woohoo! So now I can visit them regularly again

Lazy Day

Today's been one of those lazy, don't-want-to-do-anything days. At least I got most of my homework done yesterday. Today, I'm reading my Speech workbook (since we have a quiz on it on Monday).

Not much really going on. I'm applying for a scholarship that's being offered by the Social Science Dept. I emailed my English teach that I had last semester to see if he would write me a letter of recommendation. I have till April 7th to turn in my application, so I have plenty of time.

Jose starts work tomorrow after being off for 7 days. He works days now....yay! So now I won't have to go to bed by myself. He hates his new schedule but he'll get used it
