BORING SATURDAY....

We rented the movie "Juno". It was such a quirky, touching, cute movie. I completely recommend it to those that haven't seen it. The main character, Ellen Page, was great. I'm not surprised that it got so many awards and nominations.

I feel bad for those that graduated from my college a few days ago. Because of the rain, their graduation got cancelled and for Plan "B", they all got stuffed into this dining room in our college center building. I heard that people were talking over the speakers and it was just horrible. A LOT of people are disappointed because some graduates were the first ones in their family to graduate from college and a lot of people brought family from out of town only to be stuffed into this small room. The school hasn't offered a formal apology for the turnout. I know that the school cannot control the weather but they are a lot more bigger indoor venues they could have had the graduation at. They told the graduates at noon that day (during rehearsals) that it was going to be in gymnasium (a nice big room) and at the last minute, everybody gets squeezed into this one room. The graduation was at 6pm and the sun came out at 6:45!! Ouch! The only thing the school has offered to do for the graduates is for them to walk in next year's graduation!! I don't think that will work being that a lot of them will be in 4-year universities or doing other stuff. Next year is actually MY graduation, even though I'm graduating in a few months, and I'M not even going to it because I would have already been at CSUF. So I thought that was pretty lame. What they should do is redo the ceremony in the next coming weeks when the weather clears up. It's summer, there's nothing going on on campus. I just don't know what I would have done if this would have been my graduation.

Oh by the way, I got my grade card back from Speech. In Part 2 of the final, I got a 78/80!!! So that means that I got 121/125 ouf of the whole final! I can't believe I figured out how to study for that class towards the end... If I would have studied the whole semester the way that I studied for finals, I would have gotten an 'A' in the class.....but it's ok. I'm happy with the 'B' I got.

Have a great Saturday everybody!

DID GREAT!!

I did great in the speech final on Monday night. Our teacher had told us that he would give us the grade for the part 1 of the final (that we took the previous Monday) after we finished part 2. But he said to me, "Here, I'm going to tell you now what you got since I know it's going to make you happy." I got a 43/45!!! I was sooooo happy!! I did great on part 2 too. I don't know what my exact score is yet till I get the grade card (should be tomorrow)....BUT I got a 'B' in that class!! Remember I was bordering between a 'B' and 'C' and I was afraid of getting my first 'C'. I am sooooo happy.

I'll keep you posted on my final class grades. I pretty much know what I have in all of them but I'm just waiting for 1 more grade.

Haloscan has been acting weird for like a day now. My comments for the last post keeps saying I have 1 comment when I have 3. Then it will change and say 3 and then change back to 1. Apparently, I'm not the only one having this problem, I was reading their forum and I lot of people are reporting this.

Ok, that's it for now....have a good night.

THE WORST IS NOW OVER/PICTURES OF AWARDS CEREMONY

My Research Methods paper and poster was due yesterday at 9am. I started the day before at 1pm and didn't finish the paper and poster till 3:30am. I was pooped. But I didn't mind, I figure after that night, everything would be over.

So we all put up our posters up on tables. Our teacher went around and was grading them and offering constructive criticism. When he got to my poster, he was all, "Wow, this is really nice. Good size font, main points in bulletins, good color. Wow, this is actually really nice." Then he told the girl that he graded right before mine (her poster was practically blank), "See, this is an example of a really good poster. Would you mind donating this so I can use it as an example for my future Research Methods classes?" I said, "No, I don't mind at all." So I thought that was the ultimate compliment. The girl was a good sport though, she's all, "Ya, it's really nice. Good job." So now he just has to grade our actual research papers (this is the one I did where I gave out the surveys to 120 college students). My topic was, "Observing Authentic Happiness and Locus of Control (control you have over you life). Not surprisingly, there was a positive correlation between the two.

So now that the worst was over, I took the rest of the day to relax and catch up on sleep. And starting today, I will start to study for my last final for Speech.

Oh, the Scholarship ceremony was really nice. There are pictures that I will upload. Actually, you can see the pictures on the school site, in the Social Science Division. In the group picture (with the winners and the people that presented the awards) at the very top, I'm right in the middle with the black tank-toppish shirt. The the picture that they took right after my Child Psych teacher presented the award, I'm in the 3rd row, second picture. In the picture next to me (the right), that's my Research Methods teacher, doesn't he look so young? My Child Psych teacher told me that I don't have to take the final because I already have a solid 'A'. So now I have 1 less final to worry about!

Ok, have a goodnight all. Bye all.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Happy Mother's day to all the moms out there I hope you're all enjoying your special day. This morning I received a text message from my sister wishing me a happy mother's day....cuz of Minnie, you know. So I thought that was cute.

Ok, I'm just here studying my butt off for my Speech test. I HAVE to pull a 'B' for that class. I don't want to taint my record with a 'C'...so this is crucial.

Ok, have a great Sunday!!

GOING TO BED IN A FEW

I have a headache right now. Took some Excedrin PM, hopefully I'll feel them in a bit. If I ignore these teenee headaches that I sometimes get before I go to bed, they will turn into full-on migraines in the morning. When you have a 7:30 am Biology class, that's no fun.

Yes, I will definitley go to the awards ceremony. Like I was telling Johanna, that was just laziness talking.... But for sure, I'll go. I looked on our calendar and saw that Jose put "Court" on the 13th (the day of the ceremony). I called him up and asked him about it. He says that he may have court that day but he may be put on on-call. He won't know till that day. Great. I don't want to show up to the ceremony and looked like a total loser with no guest. So we'll see what happens.

As you may have probably noticed, I put back the Minnie Cam. I've been taking some really cute pictures of her lately, so I wanted to share. In the latest cam pic, she's wearing her little jogging suit.... It fits her perfectly! I can't believe that she's turning a year old in June. Crazy!

Ok, I guess that's it. Goodnight everyone!!!

BEEN SOOO BUSY....

We are coming to the last 2 weeks of school. I'm sooooo stressing over my last, big research paper for my Research Methods class. I'm in the middle of entering my data from all the suveys that I got back from 115 students. I have to do that with the SPSS program (which I don't have at home). So I literally have a few days of class time to do that and come up with the stats for my paper. Paper AND poster is due on May 15th.....*sigh*. Oh, I'm happy to report that I got a 96% on my first research paper for that class. And 100% on my Child Psychology paper (the one I had posted about a few posts ago).

I still have to RSVP for the awards ceremony. I wanna go but at the same time, I don't want to. But I've never won or been given something cool like this, so I'm going cuz of that....

Yesterday, my BIL and his wife came down from Northern CA. We had a little family get together at Jose's aunt's house (the aunt and uncle that were there for me when I was going through all that crap last summer). My SIL is pregnant...so we gave them a nice jogger stroller. They absoulutely loved it!! I'm so happy for them, considering that she had fertility problems and they got pregnant 6 months after they were married!

Ok, I have to get back to studying.....have a great night!!!
