Southern CA Wildfire Crisis
Please pray for those that have lost their lives and their homes in this horrible wildfire crisis. It's not very far from here at all. During the day, all you can smell was heavy smoke and it was eerily hot. The next morning there was nothing but ashes on our cars. It's really scary. So please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
Quick Update
Hey all! I can't believe it's been like 10 days since I last wrote here. I've been so busy with school and stuff. I really have to pick up the pace in my Philosophy class. I just don't do well in "lecture" classes. I can take the best notes and including, I take way more notes that the average person in that class. I'll study my butt off and then I will get like a 'C' in the test. It's very frustrating.
I turned in my application for CSUF to start next fall. Yesterday, I received my acceptance letter with my pin number and all. So I'm excited about that.
I've started on a new hobby...scrapbooking. And of course, my first album is on who else, Minnie! Yes, I know....I'll be the first to admit that she is a very spoiled puppy. I guess that's what happens when you don't have kids.....

Hi everyone....I'm just here updating real quick before a take a quick nap (before I take off to my Abnormal Psychology class). We had a great time in the Bay Area. It was so nice to see my mom and sister. Not surprisingly, my mom LOVED Minnie. And Minnie would go crazy for her too, when she would see her. When we had left, we realized that I had forgotten my jacket. So I got out of the car to get it real quick, while Minnie and Jose stayed in the car. The moment Minnie heard my mom's voice, she started going NUTS. Barking, spinning on the passenger seat, she was so excited so peed on the seat! My mom held her one more time and Minnie loved every second of it. Last night, she called and Jose answered. She's all, "Hi Jose. How are you? How's Minnie?" No "How's Sylvia."
We went to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 with my mom, sister and her boyfriend. It was soooooo nice. And we ate like pigs. I had missed my favorite seafood restaurant there (The Pier Market). We took tons of pictures. I'll put them up as soon as I can.
School's been good. I have to start applying for Fall 2008 at CSUF. The deadline ends on Nov. 30th. I have been so busy with school as well. I can't believe the semester is halfway over!! Crazy how time flies!
I'm going to enter Minnie in an online Halloween photo contest at Petsmart. 5 Grand Prize winners get a $125 gift card, 31 finalists get a $25 giftcard, and 50 randomly-selected winners get a $10 giftcard. The deadline for the submissions are this Sunday. The costume I got Minnie was too small, so I ordered her the medium one. Hopefully, it will get here before Sunday. On Tuesday, Oct. 23rd, there will be a costume contest at the actual store. For $4.95, you get your picture taken with your pet and they put it in this cute little halloween frame and the first 100 costumed pets to walk in through the door, get a free halloween charm. So I might take her to that too....
Ok all, I just wanted to update real quick. Today I find out what I got on my Abnormal Psychology test. Wish me luck.
Yay...Off to the Bay Area!
I got back from school almost an hour ago. My Abnormal Psychology test wasn't that hard. He gave us an hour and a half to finish, I finished in 30 min. So I think I did good, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
We're going to be leaving for our 6-hour drive to the Bay Area. I'll be seeing my mom....yay! I haven't seen her since like March, I think. We're just waiting for our clothes to finish washing. And Jose is going to give Minnie a bath so she can smell good for my mom....

Busy, Busy
I feel like I've been running around in circles. My brother-in-law is here with his wife, then my dad has just come back from the Bay Area and is ready to leave to Peru in a few days, and then school. I have a test tomorrow in Abnormal Psychology, and I've done like only half the review questions. I wanted to see my dad today (one last time) before he leaves for good. I can't believe how fast one month has flown by. He just got here on Sept. 5th!
I turned in my final draft for English yesterday. I hope I did good in it. I had to basically redo the whole thing because I had realized I didn't really follow the prompt properly. The teacher said to give him about 3 weeks to grade it.
Minnie is doing good, we got her a couple of cute sweaters (which of course I took pictures off) and I bought her a halloween costume. I wont say yet what it is, I wanted to put the pictures of that too, but she's going to look sooooo adorable..
