My husband has been with LAPD since May of 2005. He loves his job and is always telling me the interesting people he comes across. Some of them are funny but a lot of them are very sad. :( This job is completely his calling. He is the only person that I know that will be that one person out of hundreds that will help you if he sees you stranded on the road. One time, he was visiting me at my job and a customer came in saying that there was a homeless guy that was bleeding from the head. When the guy and his friend pass by the store, my husband got our first aid kit, put on some gloves, and told the guy that he would help him. He disinfected his wound and put a gauze over it. The poor guy was drunk and he had walked into a pole. His friend, shook my husband's hand, thanked him and told him that not a lot of people would have done that. And he was so right. Not a lot of people can do this thankless job. But I'm really thankful that along with him, we have thousands of men and women that put on their uniforms everyday and risk their lives for their community. For many of us, they are our heroes....24/7.
